Description
Skippered Charter
Want to charter a yacht on Sydney harbour but have never sailed before?
Not a problem! SailCorp will arrange for one of our highly competent and professional skippers to facilitate your special day.
Get involved with the sailing, grind a winch or sit back and watch the world float by.
Our four hour skippered charters standardly begin at our boutique and Historic base at the Lavender Bay Boatshed, take a course under the Sydney Harbour Bridge past the Opera House and Admiralty house and head up the main harbour towards Manly and / or Balmoral.
For the energetic on board we can stop at one of the fantastic and picturesque Harbour beaches for a swim and a bite to eat. If harbourside dining takes your fancy then we can conclude your charter at any one of the many exciting waterfront restaurants.
An alternate route takes in the sights of the inner harbour, Balmain, Greenwich and alongside the waterfront residences of the Lane Cove and Parramatta rivers.
Ask about our pick up options at many of the wharves around the harbour.
If you have your own suggestions for an itinerary just let us know!

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Do I need to know how to sail?
Not at all. SailCorp can provide a friendly competent and qualified skipper to facilitate your day. Alternatively if you know someone who has relevant sailing experience and skills, invite them along to skipper for you.
What should I bring?
Clothing & attire
We always suggest bring more than you expect you will need. Our vessels have plenty of storage space and its better to have a jumper and swimmers there just in case than regret not bringing them!
As our vessels all have white decks, please wear white soled or non-marking soled shoes, (boat shoes and Dunlop volleys are always a safe bet)
Don't forget your sunnies, hat, sunblock and drinking water for those warm days. SailCorp suggest that you leave all valuable jewelry, watches etc at home as items such as these have been known to end up at the bottom of the harbour!
Food and Beverage
Feel free to BYO picnic and drink or give us a call and we can organize it all for you.
Music
Don't forget your CDs or bagpipes if you wish.

Ferry - Milsons Point is the closest. Walk past Luna Park heading west, follow the boardwalk right around the bay and we are in the North West corner of Lavender Bay.
What about the weather?
Sydney's weather is mostly fantastic In the unlikely event of showers, there is plenty of room down below on our yachts to avoid the drips. Our vessels also have above deck covers. If the weather is deemed dangerous, SailCorp will reschedule you at no charter cost.
Where do we park?
There is restricted parking in Lavender Crescent or King George St (unlimited on weekends) or there are many paystations in North Sydney but the easiest access is from the Luna Park paystation, about 7mins level walk.
